Ninja Samurai Slice

Ninja Samurai Slice is an addictive game of pixel shopping carnage.  The game consists of the player using their sword (finger) to slash at the screen and chop various pixel items in half, whilst being careful not to hit the bags of flour.

This may sound awfully simple and a little indulgent, and it is.  Like all good iphone / ipod games, Ninja SS allows you to have a fun and addictive experience within a couple of minutes, enabling a crafty play to kill a few minutes anywhere.

What really stands out about the game is its retro pixel artwork along with the sound effects, together they encapsulate a perfect homage of the old arcades.  Like the old arcades Ninja SS is simple fun for a short amount of time and it does host a number of game modes with leaderboards for each.

I took it on holiday with me, intending to play it only for a few games and ended up sinking most of the first night away into it.  It is highly addictive and comes with a variety of unlockable swords and achievements.  Some of these achievements at first I thought were impossible, but now, after having claimed nearly all of them I can now vouch that they are within reach.

The precision of the slice mechanism is solid and handles very well, allowing you to pick up combos with not too much of a learning curve.  With its subtle music, sound effects and vibrant use of retro pixel work, Ninja Samurai Slice is a winner and a must buy for anyone with an ipod / iphone.

Ninja SS can be picked up here for the small price of 99 cents.
