Sunshine Cruise Lines

Sunshine Cruise Lines places you in charge of your own cruise ship, which you take around the globe picking up passengers and seeing sights.  On your way you will earn money for ship improvements and gain access to more ports.

At the start of the game your ship is small, but as you travel more and complete more missions, you gain money to expand your ship and offer your passenger more services.  As the ship travels you unlock more ports allowing your cruise liner to travel to a broader range of locations.

The NPC cruise director is very helpful in enabling you to get to grips with the games functions.  You learn the basics of getting to different ports, upgrading your ships capabilities and the in and out of cash and cruisebucks, the two in game currencies, common in all freemium games.

What sets Sunshine Cruise Lines apart from other games of its genre, is the ability to choose how long you would like your cruise to take. Your cruise can be anything in a range from  from 2 minutes to 8 hours.  The duration of these cruises determine the amount of money you will earn.  Much like the other freemium games of its kind you need to level up and earn cash in order to improve your ship.

During these cruises, the player is shown a cross section of their ship with all the staff and passengers moving around the different rooms.  Here you can earn more money and experience by interacting with the ship.  Sorting problems that occur by a simple touch of the screen and collecting the income and experience that each room earns.  This is a nifty way of keeping the player involved even when they cannot upgrade their ship or set a different location.  Making game play more involved than that of Farmville

Throughout Sunshine Cruise Lines you also have a story line complete with its own characters and goals.  If you take part in these goals you will level up quicker and gain a greater amount of cash.  During your travels you also learn about the different countries you visit and get postcards, that showcase the games beautiful and distinctive art style.

Sunshine Cruise Lines is a beautiful game to look at and even though, like other games of its kind there is actually little to do, the illusion it creates keeps you on you involved.  There seems to be a lot to do within the game when actually it is just a constant repetition of the same three things: Cruise, Earn and Improve.

Out of all the freemuim games I have played, Sunshine Cruise Lines does this better than even the likes of Tiny Tower.  If freemium games are your thing, then Sunshine Cruise Lines is a must.
