Blast Zone Mega Reivew

Blast Zone Mega is as retro looking as the name sounds.   The game is wonderfully presented in an 8-bit style which conveys the "Mega" devastation chillingly well.

In the game your aim is to level cities to the ground by guiding falling bombs.  Sure the game is very questionable and dark, yet it packs a good challenge and makes for a nice change from the standard app gaming genres.

Like the classic retro games of the 80's retro bomber gets hard pretty early on, unlike a lot of app games.  The huge satisfaction that comes when you level a city and pass the current challenge is brilliant and keep you playing through the harder levels.  The features that this game offers will appeal to any old school gamer, however it probably will not appeal to most casual ipod gamers.  I couldn't see the average housewife getting kicks out of destroying cities with a nuke, but then I could be wrong.  Despite not appealing to a wide variety of people it is bound to please you if you like a mixture of old games and destruction.

I have yet to encounter anything like Blast Zone Mega in the iOS market place, so for that reason alone it is worth giving it a try.  Anything that breaks the mould should get some support.

A game of mass destruction wrapped in a retro atmosphere 4/5
