Scoops Review

Scoops is far from a deep and may not be sophisticated, however it makes brilliant use out of the accelerometer device.  The device is used in game to move your cone at the bottom of the screen.  Upon it you stack ice cream that falls from the heavens in all manner of colours and flavours.

Sadly it is not all fun and games, onions and tomatoes are also falling from the sky.  If you happen to catch one of these in your ice cream stack you will lose a life (a star at the top of the screen)  Once all three of these have gone you end the game.

The game play consists of simply slightly tilting the iphone/ipod, left or right to move your cone.  The stack of ice cream often looks like it is going to fall over as it moves from one end of the screen to the other, but do not fear as the stack never topples.  While adding a balancing factor would have been a nice touch, this way it is more accessible to everyone.

It is very addictive and you have your own personal scoreboard as well as competing in a daily leaderboard and an all time one.  The game is now free but you can buy in game themes, in order to change the ice creams into hats, monsters and all manner of different things.  The folks at Nimble bit have even thrown in a Sky Burger theme for free, allowing you to play with the graphics of their other game, using burger parts instead of ice cream.

Scoops is a great game and well worth the free price, especially considering it used to be $1.99.
